Monster Jam is usually composed of three primary competitions: racing, which involves competitors racing with each other on a dirt track; two-wheel skills, where drivers have to perform various tricks such as wheelies and cyclones while balancing their trucks on two wheels; and freestyle, where each driver has a chance to showcase their driving and maneuvering abilities with jumps and spins. All three segments of the event differ in their nature, but they are all designed to show the wonders of what these monstrous trucks can do, which is also what makes them so exciting to watch.

In 2024, Monster Jam introduces even more thrills with the debut of new performances, never-seen competitions, and newly designed trucks that elevate the show. This season also marks the return of beloved veteran drivers alongside up-and-coming rookies, all ready to tackle both the new and classic challenges of the competition. The freestyle events are known to be the most dynamic as drivers display their creativity in the air through stunts such as jumps, backflips, and donuts, and this season they’ll need to face "The Monstergon," a new obstacle that is designed to enhance the challenge and the excitement of the event. • About the Venue: Rice-Eccles Stadium, or "The Rice", is more than just a football field. With stunning mountain views, it's a place to catch exciting games and events year-round. Be one of the 51,000 fans to cheer on the Utah Utes or enjoy concerts and monster truck shows. Originally built in 1998 on the site of previous stadiums, Rice-Eccles Stadium has undergone continuous improvements. However, it has not been an obstacle to continuing to host events and fill the city with excitement

• Seating: The show takes over the whole place. Tickets start at $43, and you can get a great view from the whole stadium. Sections E34, E35, E36, and E37, located on the east side of the stadium, offer a head-on view of the field and are considered some resources' picks for the best overall view. The Upper-Level Seats, while not the closest view, can be a more affordable option and still offer a decent view of the field.
• Prohibited Items: To enhance public safety and make stadium access more efficient, the following items are not permitted in the stadium:

• TRAX Red Line: Take the Red Line towards University Medical Center and get off at Stadium Station. The stadium is a short walk (5-7 minutes) from the station. 
• Bus: Several UTA bus routes stop near the stadium: Route 4, 213, 455, and 473. So no worries about transportation—you are going to get there! 

• Parking: Rice-Eccles Stadium offers on-site parking, but spaces can be limited and vary depending on the event. The cost typically ranges from $20-$50 per car. If possible, consider purchasing parking passes in advance.
• Public Parking Lots: Several public parking lots are located around the University of Utah campus and downtown Salt Lake City, within walking distance of the stadium (around 10-20 minutes). The cost varies depending on the lot and event, typically ranging from $5-$20 per car.
