Vincent Damon Furnier, better known as Alice Cooper, is an American singer-songwriter and musician who is widely known for his gory stage antics and props that are a signature component of his career as a live hard rock and heavy metal performer that has spanned over five decades. The name Alice Cooper was originally Furnier's band's name that originated in Phoenix, Arizona in the late 1960's. Furnier eventually pursued a solo career after the band Alice Cooper reached the height of their commercial success in the mid 70's, adopting the name Alice Cooper as his own. The original band was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame in 2011.
