Beartooth is a hardcore punk band that was formed by musician Caleb Shomo (formerly of Attack Attack!) in 2012. Shomo began writing Beartooth songs as a distraction while he was still in Attack Attack! and has stated he never intended to record or play any of the material he had written at that time. However, following his departure from the band he focused all of his energy into the music he had written. The band has released two full length studio albums since their inception including Disgusting (2014) and Aggressive (2015). Their third album, Disease, is due for release on September 21, 2018. Beartooth’s musical style has been described as metalcore with prominent punk rock influences. They have won two Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, one for Best Breakthrough Band in 2016 and one for Breakthrough Band of the Year in 2017.
