Martina McBride Details New ‘Joy of Christmas’ Tour and New Album
Christmas has come early for fans of Martina McBride. The country singing sensation announced the 2018 return of her “Joy of Christmas Tour” and shared details on her all-new Christmas album!
The “Joy of Christmas Tour” will kick-off its ninth run with a show in Biloxi, MS on November 23. McBride will continue to ring in the holiday spirit with performances in Jacksonville, Charlotte, Atlanta and Dallas before a final performance in Sugar Land, TX closes the 10-show trek on December 8. The tour will include a three-night stint at Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center from November 29-December 1.
This year’s “Joy of Christmas Tour” will be in support of her upcoming Christmas album, It’s the Holiday Season, which is set for release on October 19. It’s the Holiday Season will be the first Christmas album from McBride since 1998’s multiplatinum White Christmas.
And that’s not all fans have to look forward to. McBride’s second cookbook, Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life will be hitting shelves on October 30. The 300-page book will feature new recipes alongside family favorites and will be supported by an eight-city book tour as well.
“I could not be more thrilled to finally announce that I have a new Christmas album, Christmas tour, and a new cookbook all coming out this fall,” McBride wrote in a post to social media. “We recorded It’s The Holiday Season with a full orchestra and a big swing band to create something truly special. I’m so proud of this album and I can’t wait for you to hear it.”
“Once I recorded the album I knew the tour had to match the ‘big band sound,’” she continued. “So, every date on ‘The Joy of Christmas Tour 2018’ will feature a symphony orchestra backing me on every song! We will be doing songs from both albums as well as a few hits. You don’t want to miss it, we’re going to have so much fun!”
Who Is Martina McBride?
Multi-platinum country superstar Martina McBride got her start in country music with the help of another well-known name in the industry – Garth Brooks. After moving to Nashville to pursue a professional career in music, McBride and her husband John were hired as part of Brooks’ tour entourage; John lending a hand to the sound crew and Martina working the merch booth. She has served as a national spokeswoman for the National Domestic Violence Hotline as well as for the National Network to End Domestic Violence.
