Bon Jovi is a well-known and successful American rock band from Sayreville, New Jersey. The band was formed in the early 80’s, and three years and three studio albums later captured global recognition with the release of the album “Slippery When Wet” (1986), followed by the equally successful “New Jersey” (1988). They are ranked as one of the best-selling music artists included among other artists with claims of 75 million or more record sales. The band has been known to dabble into glam metal and hard rock throughout their career, but has consistently achieved success through good clean rock ‘n roll.
Recent members include Jon Bon Jovi, David Bryan and Tico Torres, all part of the original four founding members which included Richie Sambora as lead guitarist for 30 years (1983-2013). Overall, the Bon Jovi lineup has remained remarkably static with only minor changes since their conception. Both Jon Bon Jovi and Sambora went on to launch successful solo careers.
Awards and nominations have been abundant throughout Bon Jovi’s history, racking in honors from American Music Awards, Billboard Music Awards, eight Grammy nominations and a ninth win, as well as MTV and VH1 Music Video awards and a flattering Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice nomination, just to name a few. In total they have received a substantial twenty one awards and hefty sixty seven nominations between 1988 and 2013.
Bon Jovi's 2018 This House Is Not For Sale Tour has the band playing arenas and stadiums across the United States.
