Standup comedian Chelsea Handler is best known as the host of her late-night talk show Chelsea Lately on the E! network. Handler moved to Los Angeles from New Jersey when she was 19 years old to pursue a career in acting. While working as a waitress, she changed direction and began to put her focus on a future in stand-up comedy. Chelsea Lately debuted in 2007 and saw a successful run for seven seasons through 2014. She has since created several spinoffs including a scripted series titled After Lately (2011), based on the cast of her talk show. Over the last few years, Handler has worked closely with Netflix to create a talk show (Chelsea) and a series of “docu-comedy” specials for the streaming service. She has written a total of five books, all of which have made the New York Times Best Seller List, and four of which have reached number one. Handler has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine.
