Chicago is an American rock band originating from Chicago, Illinois in 1967. The original “rock and roll band with horns” is second only to The Beach Boys in Billboard singles and chart success of their albums among all other American bands. They have maintained a fairly consistent sound since their conception in the late sixties, touching primarily on pop and soft rock with a touch of jazz fusion, and most notably, all with a signature and extensive horn section. In 2016, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and continue to rank as one of the best-selling rock groups of all time. The original band members Peter Cetera, Robert Lamm, and James Pankow were recently elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame for their famous work.
