With electrifying rock power and bright-pop infused beats, Day6 stands apart from the likes of their fellow K-pop contemporaries. Established in 2014, the South Korean boy band debuted as a quintet dubbed 5LIVE. Originally consisting of members Sungjin, Jae, Young K, Junhyeok, and Wonpil, they upgraded to Day6 with the addition of Dowoon in 2015. Releasing their debut EP The Day later that same year, the group charted outside the Korean Top Five, landing at number two on the Billboard World Albums chart.
Junhyeok parted ways from the band prior to their next project Every Day6, which saw the release of monthly singles and steadily produced a pair of new songs each month of the year starting in January 2017. The first ten tracks released from this project were compiled onto their first official LP Sunrise, released in the summer of 2017. The series continued from July through November, and singles released between those months were compiled for a second full length album titled Moonrise, which arrived later that same year.
Day6 released their third EP Shoot Me: Youth, Pt. 1 in June 2018. The album entered the Billboard World Albums Top Ten chart and peaked at the number three spot in Korea, becoming their best-selling release to date.
