Meet Ellen DeGeneres Show

Ellen DeGeneres began her comedy career performing standup at small clubs and coffee houses around New Orleans, recounting stories of her childhood and experiences as a waitress, hostess, bartender and house painter. In 1981, she became the emcee at Clyde’s Comedy Club in New Orleans, going on to tour nationally throughout the early 1980’s. By 1984 she had made a name for herself and was awarded the title of Showtime’s funniest person in America. She was cast in These Friends of Mine, which was renamed Ellen, and gained widespread popularity due in part to DeGeneres’ unique style of humor.

Over the course of its 15 years on air, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has won a total of 59 Daytime Emmy Awards, broke numerous records, and created the spin-off show Ellen’s Game of Games. The show marks her triumphant return to the spotlight, dancing her way onto stage in front of a live studio audience and signing off each day with the same message: “be kind to one another.” Don’t miss out on witnessing DeGeneres return to her roots with her upcoming standup tour!
