Garrick Ohlsson is a classical pianist. He is the first and only American to win first prize in the International Chopin Piano Competition, which he won in 1970. Ohlsson also won first prize at the Busoni Competition, in Italy and the Montreal Piano Competition in Canada. In 1994, he was awarded the Avery Fisher Prize, and received the University Musical Society Distinguished Artist Award in 1998. Ohlsson has earned three Grammy Award nominations, winning one in 2008. He has released a total of 13 studio albums to date.
