Texas native Hayes Carll is a folk singer/songwriter known for his plainspoken poetry and sarcastic humor. Heavily influenced by acts like Bob Dylan, John Prine, Kris Kristofferson, and the writings of Jack Kerouac, Carll rose to prominence with his roots-oriented style. He released his debut album Flowers & Liquor in 2002, followed by 2004’s Little Rock and Trouble in Mind in 2008. 2010 saw a handful of Carll’s songs featured in the film Country Strong, three of which appeared on the film’s soundtrack albums as well. He has since released two more albums including 2016’s Lovers and Leavers, featuring the Grammy nominated single “Chances Are.”
