Singer and actor Jesse McCartney first achieved fame in the late 1990s as an actor on the daytime drama All My Children. He kickstarted his music career as a member of the boy band Dream Street in 1999, before branching out into a solo career by 2002. His debut album, Beautiful Soul, peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200 and would go on to become certified platinum. McCartney won multiple awards at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards, including Choice Crossover Artist, Choice Male Artist and Choice Breakout, Male. The following year, he won Favorite Male Singer at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. His third album, Departure, came out in 2008 and spawned the top 10 single “Leavin’”, his highest-charting single to date.
