Miranda Sings is a fictional character portrayed by American comedian, actress and YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger. Ballinger created Miranda, an egotistical, quirky and talentless character on her YouTube channel in 2008. In her videos, Miranda sings covers of her favorite songs horribly with accommodating amateur videos, recounts her daily activities and discusses current pop culture topics that she often does not understand. As of April 2018, her YouTube channel had over 8 million subscribers.
Since 2009, Ballinger has toured as Miranda in live comedy acts throughout North America and the U.K. Her character has made appearances on shows such as The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee with Jerry Seinfeld. She has also authored a New York Times #1 Bestselling book as Miranda titled Selp-Helf and has her own series called Haters Back Off.
