Pusha T was raised in Virginia Beach, where he and his brother Gene ‘No Malice’ Thornton formed the hip-hop duo Clipse in 1992. They released their debut studio album, Lord Willin’ in 2002. The album’s debut single, “Grindin’” became an instant hit. Following the success of their first album, Clipse went on to launch a record label imprint, a hip-hop group, and released two more studio albums. In 2009, the brothers announced they were taking time off from their joint project to explore careers as solo artists. In 2011, he released his first solo project, Fear of God. The mixtape was followed by its EP sequel, Fear of God II: Let Us Pray in 2011. Pusha T’s debut studio album, My Name Is My Name, dropped in 2013 and featured guest appearances by artists including Rick Ross, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar, and 2 Chainz. The album debuted at the number four spot on the Billboard 200. In 2015, King Push – Darkest Before Dawn: The Prelude was released, featuring the hit single “Untouchable.” The album peaked at number 20 on the Billboard 200.
