Meet Randy Travis

Country music singer, songwriter, guitarist, and actor Randy Travis stepped onto the scene in the late 1970's, making his mainstream breakthrough by the mid '80s with the release of his album Storms of Life. The album sold more than four million copies, establishing Travis as a force in the neotraditional country movement. A string of platinum and multi-platinum albums followed shortly after. By the mid 1990s, he switched gears, focusing more on Christian material and testing his skills at acting. Both ventures brought Travis success, with the artist earning several Dove Awards and appearing in numerous films like The Rainmaker (1997), Black Dog (1998), Texas Rangers (2001), and several episodes of Touched by an Angel. Travis has recorded 20 studio albums and charted more than 50 singles, including 16 number one hits over the course of his career. He has sold over 25 million records, earning seven Grammy Awards, six CMA Awards, and several other prestigious awards. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been a Country Music Hall of Fame inductee since 2016.
