New York-based funk rock band the Spin Doctors stepped into the spotlight in the early 1990s. The group released their debut album Pocket Full of Kryptonite in the summer of 1991, selling a respectable number of units to their growing fanbase, however, it would be a few more months before they would catch the attention of radio DJs. Their single “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong” finally gained traction, hitting the airwaves and turning the Spin Doctors into an overnight sensation in 1992. Pocket Full of Kryptonite skyrocketed to the top of the Billboard Heatseekers and Billboard 200 charts, hitting number one and number three respectively. The album also housed the group’s second massive hit single, “Two Princes,” and eventually became the Spin Doctors’ best-selling album, earning a 5X platinum certification. The Spin Doctors have released six full-length albums to date. Their music is characterized by their groove-oriented pop melodies and bluesy licks.
