Meet The Gatlin Brothers

Lead by Larry Gatlin, the Gatlin Brothers are a country trio that rose to fame through the 1970s and ‘80s. The group didn’t officially form until 1979, when Larry began crediting brothers Steve and Rudy as the supporting band on his solo singles. The trio adopted the close harmony vocal techniques made popular by the Louvins and the Everlys, scoring several hits that teetered between inventive country and commercial material, keeping them at the top of the charts through the late 1980s. Following a decline in popularity (when the new traditionalists began to take over the airwaves), the brothers relocated from Nashville to Branson, MO, where they ran their own theater.
