311 (pronounced three-eleven) is an American rock group hailing from Omaha, Nebraska. The band reached mainstream success following the release of their self-titled third album in 1995, which featured their hit single “Down.” The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, receiving massive radio play and the accompanying music video being put into MTV's rotation.
