Paws for a Cause: ETC Cares and Dumb Friends League team up for Furry Scurry
Paws for a Cause: ETC Cares teams up with the Dumb Friends League for their Annual Furry Scurry.
Every year, the Dumb Friends League hosts the Furry Scurry, a fun-filled festival and two-mile dog walk at Denver's Washington Park. This year, ETC Cares was proud to be a part of this pawsome event, supporting the League's 31st year and their mission to ending pet homelessness and animal suffering in Colorado.
Pups, Pals and Philanthropy: Employees Show their Team Spirit
A team of dedicated ETC Cares volunteers, including Alden Y., Amber A., Abby C., Laura H., Aarushi S., Bailey F., and Zach L., laced up their shoes (and leashes!) to participate in the Furry Scurry. They were joined by three furry friends, Nami (Norman), Penny, and Marty, who added their own special energy to the event.
Walking the Walk (and Wagging the Tail)
The Furry Scurry is more than just a walk in the park – it's a chance to make a real difference in the lives of animals in need. While at the event we talked to Zoey, a young Denverite with her shy German shepard Rue, “I think it’s an incredible event and for such an amazing cause too. I’ve participated in the past few years but this year I have a dog to walk with, thanks to the Dumb Friends League. I hope more people come out to participate as well.”
The two-mile route was filled with happy dog owners, wagging tails, and plenty of camaraderie. Participants enjoyed the event's new activities, including pet-themed contests and a "Flealess Market" with treats and goodies for furry companions.
Fur and Friends: Pawsome Teamwork
After the walk, the ETC Cares crew enjoyed a celebratory lunch together, solidifying the bonds not just between humans and their furry friends, but also among teammates. Participating in events like the Furry Scurry is a great way to combine team building with giving back to the community.
As ETC Cares member Laura H. said, "It was inspiring to see so many people come together for such a worthy cause. Getting some exercise with Penny and knowing that we were helping homeless pets made the walk even more enjoyable."
The Impact: Every Step Counts
The funds raised through the Furry Scurry directly support the Dumb Friends League's vital work. Just like ETC Cares volunteers who are dedicated to environmental responsibility, the Dumb Friends League demonstrates unwavering commitment to animal welfare. Their efforts provide shelter, medical care, and loving homes for countless animals in need.
ETC Cares is proud to be a part of such a positive and impactful event. We are dedicated to helping the community, one philanthropic paw print at a time!
