Madison Square Garden Seating Information

Madison Square Garden has a total capacity of 19,500. However, this figure can vary for events with unique venue configurations.

Madison Square Garden (MSG) has various seating sections grouped by tiers, catering to different viewing preferences and budgets. Here’s a breakdown of the main section groupings:

Courtside/On the Floor

  • Courtside Seats: Closest to the action, typically around the court for basketball or stage for concerts. These are premium seats offering the best view and VIP treatment.

Lower Bowl (100 Level)

  • These are the sections just above the floor, offering great sightlines and proximity to the action.
  • Sections 101-119 (for basketball/hockey) wrap around the arena, providing good views.
  • Center Court/Ice Seats (Sections 105, 106, 115, 116) are considered premium in the lower bowl for sports events.

Club Seating

  • Delta Sky360° Club: Located behind the benches, offering premium amenities like access to exclusive lounges, food, and beverage service.
  • Lexus Club: Mid-tier club seating with access to premium food and beverage options, better views, and more comfortable seating.

200 Level (Upper Bowl)

  • Sections 201-227: Higher up from the floor but still providing decent views for sports, concerts, and shows.
  • Corner and End Sections: Slightly more budget-friendly options, offering a farther view but still clear.

Suite Level

  • The Loft Suites: Private suites with exclusive amenities, located around the venue. These are ideal for corporate events or premium viewing experiences with groups.
  • Signature Suites: High-end, luxury suites with VIP service, food, and beverages.

Chase Bridge (300 Level)

  • Unique seating located high above the arena floor, providing a bird’s-eye view of the action. The Chase Bridge spans both sides of the arena and offers a more intimate setting with fewer rows.

Upper Deck/Promenade (400 Level)

  • Sections 401-420: The furthest and most budget-friendly seats, located in the uppermost tier. These seats are typically for those who want to experience the event at a lower price point, but they still offer a clear view of the venue.

What makes The Garden so great?

The Garden holds events roughly 320 nights out of the year and is considered the fifth busiest music venue in the world. It regularly hosts college basketball, boxing, ice shows, professional wrestling, circuses and several other events. Countless concerts have occurred at The Garden, including shows by Elton John, Phish and Adele. It opened in 1968 and is the oldest NHL arena still in use.

The Garden has a capacity of 19,812 for basketball games and 18,006 for hockey, with six different levels in total. Many accessibility options are offered by the venue, but seating is limited to specific sections.

Many artists have praised the acoustics and the sound system within the Garden as being one of the best in the country. The scoreboard that hangs over center ice is made up of four 15.7' x 28' HD video screens.

Due to its location in Manhattan, the venue does not have any parking designated nearby. While parking is limited, the Garden sits on top of Penn Station and can be accessed not only via the New York Subway system, but also through metro-area rail networks.

Several bars and restaurants are located both throughout the venue and in the surrounding Midtown area. You can find concession stands and free Wi-Fi on every level.

Before you can enter the venue, you'll have to pass a security checkpoint. The following items are prohibited: outside food and drink, professional video or audio recording equipment, anything that inappropriately restricts the view of other patrons, selfie sticks and large bags.
