Meet Kings Of Leon
The band Kings of Leon is very much a family affair. Formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999, it consists of brothers Caleb Followill (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Nathan Followill (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and Jared Followill (bass guitar, backing vocals), along with their cousin Matthew Followill (lead guitar, backing vocals). When they first started out, the band’s sound was a blend of Southern rock and blues, but over time it adopted more of an alternative rock sound. They first saw success overseas in the U.K., earning two BRIT Awards in 2008. It wasn’t until their fourth studio album, Only by the Night (2008), that the band saw success in the U.S., with the singles “Sex on Fire,” “Notion,” and “Use Somebody” all peaking at number one.
