Meet The Temptations
The Temptations are a legendary American Motown group originating from Detroit, MI. Considered some of the forefathers of R&B and soul music, the group is recognized as one of the most successful in American music history. They have previously garnered eighteen number one hits on various charts over the years, and Rolling Stone has ranked them sixty-eighth on their 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list.
The Temptations have received several Grammy Awards, and in 2013 were awarded the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Their work with Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson helped shape the Temptations musical style into what would become The Motown Sound, a historically important facet of American music. Their blend of pop and R&B and its influence can be found in almost every example of modern popular music.
