The Arizona Bowl
The Arizona Bowl is a postseason college football bowl game that has been played annually in Tucson, Arizona since 2015. The game features teams from the Mountain West Conference and the Mid-American Conference Conference.
The idea for the Arizona Bowl was born out of a desire to bring a bowl game back to Tucson, which had not hosted one since the Copper Bowl in 1999. The Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission spearheaded the effort to create the game, and in 2014, the NCAA granted a license for the game to be played.
The inaugural Arizona Bowl was played on December 29, 2015, between the Nevada Wolf Pack and the Colorado State Rams. The Wolf Pack won the game 28-23.
Since then, the Arizona Bowl has been played at Arizona Stadium, which is home to the University of Arizona Wildcats football team. The game has seen some exciting matchups over the years, including the 2018 game between Arkansas State and Nevada, which went to overtime and saw Nevada win 16-13.
The Arizona Bowl has also been involved in some charitable efforts, partnering with the Nova Home Loans Arizona Bowl Foundation to support a variety of causes. In 2020, the bowl game announced that it would donate $100,000 to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Overall, the Arizona Bowl has become a popular destination for fans of both the Mountain West Conference and the Sun Belt Conference, and the game is sure to provide plenty of excitement for years to come.
