Australian pop/rock outfit 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) formed in 2011, consisting of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist Michael Clifford, bassist Calum Hood, and drummer Ashton Irwin. The band first rose to fame as YouTube celebrities, sharing videos of themselves covering songs from a variety of artists from 2011 to 2012. They achieved international fame following a tour with mega-famous boy band One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour in 2013. 5 Seconds of Summer have since released a total of three full-length albums, including their self-titled debut, Sounds Good Feels Good, and Youngblood, each of which have debuted at the top of the charts. The band became the first Australian act in the US to achieve three chart-topping albums on the Billboard 200. According to 5SOS, they have sold more than eight million albums and two million concert tickets worldwide.
