Devotchka emerged in the late 1990s with a wildly unique style drawing on a range of influences including cabaret, spaghetti Westerns, punk, norteño, and immigrant dance music of Eastern Europe (to name just a few). The Colorado-based quartet made their mainstream breakthrough in the early 2000s, finding widespread success with their Grammy-nominated soundtrack to the Academy Award winning hit indie film Little Miss Sunshine. The group would hit it big once again in 2008 with the release of A Mad & Faithful Telling, reaching the number nine spot on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart and 29 on the Top Independent Albums chart.The would release one more album 100 Lovers, 2011 and a soundtrack I Love You, Philip Morris, 2010 before entering a hiatus. Devotchka would regroup seven years later for the release of The Night Falls Forever in 2018.
