Tennessee rapper JellyRoll began rapping around 2005, breaking through thanks to underground collabs with the likes of Lil Wyte and Haystack. His independent debut album The Big Sal Story hit shelves in 2012, but it was the album’s follow up that would officially launch his career. In 2013, JellyRoll announced his Whiskey, Weed, & Waffle House mixtape, which quickly captured the attention of the breakfast chain’s legal department. After some very public back-and-forth disputes between the JellyRoll and Waffle House, the two settled their differences with the mixtape renamed Whiskey, Weed, & Women, after which the rapper declared Waffle House was still his favorite restaurant. JellyRoll has since released a number of mixtapes and studio albums, as well as successful collaborations including Business As Usual with Haystak and Lyil Wyte’s No Filter.
