Phil Lesh’s claim to fame is as one of the founding members of the popular psychedelic rock band Grateful Dead, where he was the bassist for 30 years until it disbanded in 1995. Afterwards, Lesh continued to play and perform, creating his own band, Phil Lesh and Friends. In 2009, Lesh went back on tour with the remaining members of the Grateful Dead before forming a new band called Furthur. He announced a hiatus from Furthur in 2014 and is currently on tour with The Terrapin Family Band.
