Meet Preservation Hall Jazz Band


The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has proudly carried the torch of New Orleans music for over 50 years, reminding music lovers of the vast and vibrant musical history of NOLA. The PHJB derives its name from Preservation Hall in the French Quarter, and was founded by New Orleans tuba player Allan Jaffer in the early 1960s. Throughout their extensive career, the PHJB has released over 20 studio albums, hitting stages at festivals from coast to coast and playing alongside some of the biggest names in the music industry, from legends like Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, The Grateful Dead, to modern hit-makers like My Morning Jacket, Arcade Fire, and the Black Keys.
