Swedish punk rockers Refused formed in 1991, making their debut two years later with their 1993 EP This Is the New Deal. Their full-length debut This Just Might Be... The Truth would arrive one year later in 1994, and Refused would go on to release three additional full-lengths before going their separate ways in 1998. Over a decade later, the band has reconciled and joined forces once again, releasing their fifth studio album War Music in 2019. Refused's music often incorporates non-conformist themes and feature far-left political lyrics. The band is one of the most influential groups in rock music, profoundly affecting the development of the genre at the turn of the twentieth century. Several well known acts have cited Refused as major influences on their style and sound, including Linkin Park, Duff McKagan (Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses), Blink-182, and many more.
