Ringo Starr And His All Starr Band is a musical project headed by famed Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. The group has a constantly rotating lineup consisting of other esteemed musicians, making it a sort of rock and roll super group, akin to Crosby, Stills, and Nash. They perform songs written by Ringo Starr from his solo career as well as certain songs written by the Beatles. Notable contributors which have toured with the group include Todd Rundgren, Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, and Ray Davies, just to name a few.
The band does not write original music or record studio albums. They are solely a live, touring act. However, whenever a brand new ‘All Starr Band’ is formed with many new members, a live performance album may be released, to showcase the super group’s versatility from previous installments. As part of the show, Ringo Starr will perform on the drums and also sing.
