Folk rockers The Lumineers formed in Ramsey, NJ in 2005 by friends and musicians Wesleky Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites. The band would make their mainstream breakthrough a few years later with the release of their smash hit single "Ho Hey" in 2012. The track skyrocketed to the top of the charts, sitting atop the billboard Rock Songs chart for a total of 18 non-consecutive weeks, topping several other charts and reaching number three on the Hot 100. The song's success would serve as a sign of things to come for the group, cementing their status as one of the most popular folk rock and Americana artists to emerge during the genres' revivals. Their self-titled debut album, which housed "Ho Hey" as well as several other chart-topping hits, arrived later in 2012, earning a triple-platinum status in the US and Canada (including platinum certifications in the UK and Ireland, and gold in Australia). They have since written two additional albums, including the platinum-selling number-one Cleopatra (2016) and III (2019).
