Known best as the lead vocalist for blues/rock outfit Alabama Shakes, Brittany Howard emerged in 2009, boasting distinct, powerful vocals that set the band, then simply known as the Shakes, apart from the crowd. Alabama Shakes debut album Boys & Girls arrived in 2012, receiving widespread critical acclaim and multiple Grammy Award nominations. The group's second album, Sound & Color, arrived three years later, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200. Howard is also the front woman of the rock band Thunderbitch, which formed in Nashville in 2012.
