The Wenatchee AppleSox are part of the West Coast League, a summer collegiate Minor League Baseball. The team has a reputation for developing young talent and sending players on to successful careers in professional baseball.
Since 2000, the Pippins have become a fixture of the Wenatchee sports scene. The team has a passionate fanbase that comes out in force for every home game, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere at Paul Thomas Sr. Field where the AppleSox play their home games.
The team won the PIL Championship in 2003 and has won five WCL Championships. In 2015 and 2016, AppleSox featured two prolific hitters: Keston Hiura, an outfielder from UC Irvine, set WCL records with 33 extra-base hits, 119 total bases, and 6 triples. Michael Toglia, the third AppleSox player to win league MVP, and Steve Marquardt, hit .306 and led the WCL with 7 home runs.
