New Kids on the Block are considered the pioneering boy band who emerged in the mid-1980s and laid the groundwork for the teen-pop/boy band boom of the late ‘90s. Their reinterpreted R&B-styled street music catered to a young female audience, making them one of the most successful acts of the era. In their heyday, NKOTB released a total of five studio albums, including a full-length Christmas album over the course of a decade. The group parted ways in 1994 leaving behind a legacy with several of the members embarking on solo careers. In 2007 they secretly reunited, releasing a comeback album, The Block (2008), and venturing out on a world tour. They have since released an additional album, 2013’s 10, and continue to tour with original members Jordan and Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg, and Danny Wood.
