Tears for Fears is a new wave pop band from the UK. Founding members Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith set out to climb to the top of the popular new wave movement in the UK, which combined fast, post-punk style music with electronic synthesizers. Eventually, they bridged toward a more power pop sound, which drove them to great success. Their albums were extremely popular in both the US and the UK, starting with ‘The Hurting’ and ‘Songs from the Big Chair’, both attaining number one status on the Billboard Charts. In 1991, the group disbanded, only to be reunited in 2000 and back on tour, playing classic hit songs such as ‘Shout’ and ‘Everybody Wants to Rule the World’.
